How do I get to Blessed Mother Catholic Church?

Our parish is located at Blessed Mother Church, 601 E. 23rd St. Owensboro, KY 42303. Here is a map.

Where should I park?

Our main parking lot is located on East 22nd St. There is also some parking in front of the 23rd Street entrance. Many people also utilize street parking on both streets.

Do you have a cry room?

We know that God put the wiggle in children! So they are always welcome to be one with us in the mass! But if you feel more comfortable having your little one in the cry room where there is a bit more space, it is located just inside the 23rd St. entrance, across from the bathrooms. You'll be able to hear mass clearly inside the cry room, and have easy access to join us for communion!

I’m not Catholic, how do I know when to sit, stand and kneel?

There’s no need to be self-conscious about the postures and responses used during mass. Most visitors just follow the lead of our parishioners. The books in each pew will guide you through the scripture readings and songs used during the mass.

I’m not Catholic, is it okay for me to participate in communion?

Communion, or The Eucharist, is the most intimate expression of our faith. Catholics believe that the host and wine are literally transformed into the body and blood of Christ. Because it is not merely symbolic for us, but a sacrament and the true presence of Christ, to which we profess "Amen" (I Believe) before receiving, we ask that you not receive communion if you are not a practicing Catholic. However, those not receiving the Body of Christ and Precious Blood are invited to come forward with their hands crossed over their chest for a special blessing.

Am I expected to put money in the offering?

If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering basket, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. Though if you felt led to make any size offering, we are grateful for your generosity! If you consider our parish your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving to our parish on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. You can give by check or cash during the service, or you can sign up for online giving here.

I have a hearing problem, is there any special assistance?

Yes! We have assisted hearing devices that are set to our sound system. Simply ask an usher for assistance!
