Parish Activities

And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 13:52).

Listed here are the various ways in which we have fun and enjoy each other’s company.

BBQ Festival

Blessed Mother participates in the annual International BBQ Festival. The Festival is held on the second Friday and Saturday of May. The Cook-off is on Saturday. All are welcome to work at the booth, cook, decorate or stir burgoo. .

Burgoo Cooks

Besides the Picnic and the BBQ Festival, our cooking team gathers throughout the year to stir up some of our famous burgoo. Proceeds go to various parish ministries. Please support this ministry by helping the cooks or by purchasing some burgoo! Contact Danny Thomas (270-684-2120).

Parish Picnic

Every year we have a drive thru picnic to raise money for the needs of the church. This is probably the most anticipated event of the year. Our award-winning barbecue (chicken, pork, mutton) and burgoo is always plentiful. There is also a 5k raffle. Workers are needed to take orders, serve the food, cook, set-up and take-down. Call Jan Storm (270-993-4455) to see how you can help!
