"And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 13:52).
Listed here are the various ways in which we have fun and enjoy each other's company. For more information about any of these activities, call Jan Storm in the Parish Office (683-8444, ext. 21), unless otherwise indicated.
As the name indicates, this group is for all men and women ages 55 and up. They play Bunko every Monday in the Parish Hall at 1:00 P.M. They are eager to develop new programs for our Senior Citizens. If you would like to get involved, contact Annie Hurm (684-5429). There is also a Bunko group that meets the second Tuesday of each month, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, in the Parish Hall. Contact Ann McIntyre (684-4105).
Pee Wee ball is played through the different parishes in town and the other ball teams have consolidated with the Catholic School System. Call Russ Hayden (684-6783) for more information.
Every year we have a church picnic to raise money, make new friends, and build community. This is probably the largest, most anticipated event of the year. Our award-winning barbecue (chicken, pork, mutton) and burgoo is always plentiful, as well as games, raffles, home-made crafts, auction, ice cream, and so much more! Workers are needed to run the booths, serve the food, cook, set-up and take-down. Call Ben Miller at 685-2143.
Served on Sundays after the 10:00 AM Mass. This is a time to meet new people, socialize, and give mom a break from cooking breakfast! Volunteers are needed to fix coffee and juice, serve and clean up. For more information, contact Ann McIntyre (684-4105).
Fun and dancing for the whole family, held on the third Tuesday of the month, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Contact Ramon and Lois Laboy (231-0533).
This group meets in the St. Patrick room of the Family Life Center, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. They use their talents to make quilts and baby quilts for our Parish Picnic. They are eager to teach beginners how to quilt and they welcome those who would like to share their already-acquired quilting talents. Bring your scissors, your lunch, and your smile. They will also quilt for others for a fee. The money will be used to buy materials. For more information, call Catherine Roberts (685-3054) or Camilla Baker (729-9094).
Cub, Brownie, and Scout groups for school-age boys and girls. Contact Ken Keller (685-3352). Adults working in this program must have completed the Safe Environment Training and background check.
